How to make your content STAND OUT

Create inspiring stories.

Tell someone’s story, or maybe you could even tell your own.

Be really creative and write your first piece of fiction.

Readers do not want systematic, computer optimized content plainly boring into the blank, white computer screen. In order to gain loyal readers who are going to follow and engage with your platform, create content that is uniquely tailored to your personal brand.

Your brand.

And that brings me to my next point… your brand. In order to create that new and exciting content I mentioned before, you should have a clear idea about your brand and targeted audience. This information is key to every post, article or email you write. It’s much easier than it sounds.

Start simple by thinking of three words that describe yourself, or whatever it is you are trying to see through content marketing efforts. If you are having trouble, think about what sets you apart from your competition. If that doesn’t help, get a friend or three to describe your brand.

For me, my brand of journalism can be described in three words:

Empathetic, Authentic, Curious

You better believe most of those words are components of my personality a.k.a what makes me different! Once you have a few words from your own brainstorming session and surveying of friends, note which words repeat. Whichever three words were mentioned the most now defines your brand.

Now that you’re in the groove of blogging and the joys that come with it, you have to remember that you need consistency to stay in the game. Without consistency all of the progress you made was for nothing because it will fail. I don’t mean to sound so harsh, but I’m speaking from experience.

Your consistency.

You can stay consistent by creating an editorial calendar and regularly implementing into your blog post scheduling. Or, you could use a free scheduling software for scheduling your tweets and Instagram posts early.

Consistency is the only key to sustaining and growing traffic to your platform. Create a schedule for posting to all of your social media accounts. Create your stories in advance. Have your content on a planned schedule to be published on your site automatically at a certain date and time.

...and those are my main three tips on how to make your content stand out. I just wanted to offer a short article on some immediate steps you can take to increase traffic to your platform with more authentic content. Of course, there are more complicated (but very worth it) steps you can take to dramatically increase your platform and help you sustain that growth.
